The use of the word history in the name of Biohistory, incorporates the meaning of "historical record". I recall that Norio Fujisawa, a scholar of Greek philosophy, taught that the original meaning of the word history is to study and then to record it. History is the result. During study, the integration of thought and feeling (and then Philos) creates a good story. Recording is overlaid with narration. Don't you think it's likely that life isn't revealed in a sudden burst of insight, but is understood after investigation, writing, and narration.     In Dialog, Endo is the personification of narration. You must see his stage performances, where one gets a sense of the magnificence of narration created by integrating words and the body. Research features medaka and spiders. They narrate a new tale not derived from the laboratory model. I think Takeda is one of our Biohistory, colleagues, and spiders are the work of a researcher in BRH. While opening up the new field of the brain and genes, Dr. Hotta is in admiration and sympathy with the challenge of the brain's complexity itself. Please give your attention to the new activities of researchers, including those involving living creatures in culture and Biohistory lectures. (Keiko Nakamura)
