I received my Ph. D by studying the mechanism of diapause of silkworms, but I was attracted to the charm of ground beetles and advanced into the field of evolutionary biology. Current research themes are 1) phylogeny and evolution of higher classification groups of arthropods, 2) plant-insect interaction and speciation mechanism, and 3) evolutionary molecular mechanism of hindwing degeneration of ground beetles.
